Pandemic ka lang, I am a Filipino
Self-awareness
is the ability to focus on yourself and be able to evaluate your actions,
thoughts or emotions, manage them and be able to improve them accordingly, even amidst a global pandemic.
Undoubtedly,
during this global pandemic, I’ve been able to assess myself and have been able
to improve my thinking and all that matters. I have my emotions and thoughts in
check. As a result, I’ve been more productive and focused on what to improve or
retain.
During this
global pandemic, not only have I noticed changes in myself but also in the
ever-changing environment. The people have been more cautious, though it didn’t
stop them from gathering. Establishments became more strict, online selling
became kind of a trend – that is, to earn money, and nature slowly healed
itself now that we’ve been quarantined. Nevertheless, humans can be quite
stubborn and persistent, they continued projects that harmed the environment
and its dwellers all while turning a blind eye to the publics’ plea.
A simple
yet significant initiative that even a Filipino Youth can contribute in the
society amidst global pandemic is to strictly follow the health protocols.
Staying safe could mean safety for others too. Moreover, as Filipinos who’re
known for being resourceful, we find all possible ways to earn a living
especially now that most businesses have closed due to the pandemic. In addition, one can
also contribute by staying home. An initiative that can be done by anyone,
especially the youth who don’t necessarily need to go outside that often.
Overall, I
think it’s a good thing to be aware of oneself. Daniel Chidiac, author of “Who
Says You Can’t? You Do” did say that being self-aware is not the absence of
mistakes, but the ability to learn and correct them. Another, as long as life
goes on, there will always be something for us to do. A must initiative to be
realized.
