Exhibit Our Pride and Honor

Ilocos Sur is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival” held in the Heritage City of Vigan.

This festival at the end of January celebrates the best of Ilocos Sur culture. This province is best known for its historical sites, delicacies, customs and traditions and different festivals.

Incumbent Governor Deogracias Victor “DV” Savellano started the festival three years ago to celebrate the culture and heritage of Ilocos Sur.

Kannawidan opened with a celebration of mass at the St. Paul Cathedral and a town procession of the patron saints of all the towns of Ilocos Sur. The capitol of the province in Vigan City is usually decorated with woven baskets, makeshift bahay kubo and kalesa. Lanterns were hung from trees and posts around the plaza in front of the provincial capitol.

This year's Kannawidan though welcomed the people with a blast. Drone show with a touch of fireworks that lit up the night sky.

Moreover, the provincial government is always inviting artists, personalities and entertainers just to give amusement to people of Ilocos Sur and even tourists coming from different places.

This is truly a very nice festival, something to visit and experience. What Ilocos Sur has to offer. Ilocos Sur and the people's true pride and honor.
